Whyte and Son Trucking
When it comes to trucking and mining in northern Ontario heavy duty is the way they spec their trucks. This is no exception to the Whyte and Son T800 Kenworths and Raglan sidedump B-train combinations. Whyte runs a fleet of Kenworths out of the Sudbury area specializing in mine and quarry service. A blinding snowstorm hits as unit 504 sits idling in Nairn Centre Ontario with up to a 46 ton payload of ore concentrate on the trailers. This Kenworth is spec'd with 16000 front axle, 46000 rearends, 18 speed tranny and big Cat horsepower to ease the burden of the heavy load. The Whyte trucks are equiped with the extra bright lights on the front bumper to see moose at night which is a constant nuisance in northern Ontario. Although plastered in snow these Raglan trailers with super single tires are custom manufactured in Ontario to the owners specs. |
